He has won the Arthur Ellis Award
from the Crime Writers of Canada. His novels and
stories regularly make the Locus Magazine’s
annual recommended reading list.
Before turning to fiction, he was a
journalist and a freelance speechwriter for Canadian
corporate executives and political leaders. He
lives on Vancouver Island, British Columbia,
Canada.
